A growing and reputable veterinary practice in Ozone Park, NY is seeking a full-time experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician.
For the right applicant, we can provide housing! Candidate must be professional, reliable and must have at least 2 years experience in client communication, surgery, and hospital treatments. The candidate must exhibit expertise in the following areas: phlebotomy and blood specimen collection, cystocentesis,IV catheter placement/fluid therapy, medical math, radiography, dentistry and surgery,taking accurate and concise patient histories, client education, pharmacology and nursing hospitalized cases. This is not an entry-level position. If you are not confident in performing the above skills without supervision, or if you have a problem cleaning, please do not apply.
We are a fast-paced and busy full-service hospital, and because of this we expect the candidate to be aware of the idiosyncrasies of working at a veterinary practice. This means flexibility when it comes to working evenings, weekends and holidays, and realizing that our patients take priority over our personal lives. We are seeking hardworking individuals with initiative and motivation, looking to hone their skills and build a rewarding career at our practice. We certainly differentiate between credentialed and non-credentialed technicians, but have the reputation of compensating above industry standards.
Our practice is composed of competent doctors and staff, and we place a strong emphasis on continuing education at management’s expense. We specialize in major surgeries, endoscopy, routine and complex dentistry, and as such we are looking for veterinary nurses who would like to gain relevant experience in these areas. We have a friendly staff whose practice philosophy has always been aimed at improving patient care through client education. Our management also quickly recognizes employee potential and invests in it appropriately. As hard as we work, we also make time for BBQ`s in our backyard. Our chef is the owner/Veterinarian. We make it a point to find some "down" time as well.
Salaries range from $15-25/hour depending on experience. There is a one bedroom apartment with an eat in kitchen above the hospital. Arrangements regarding this housing will only be discussed at time of interview.
